Review
"...very engaging and has many anecdotes, personal stories and client examples designed to help bring about internal shifts for the reader. The transformative process itself is surprisingly simple and easy to follow..." -- Bridges, ISSSEEM Newsmagazine, Fall, 1994, Christine Hibbard, Ph.D.

"A refreshing change from books that perceive our weaknesses as negative, this book takes us on an inner journey where we are led by our deficiencies into the wholeness within. -- Body, Mind, & Spirit, January 1995, Marianne Parady

"Core Transformation is a brilliant book about a brilliant process. It quickly takes you to the core of your being. What a powerful and simple gift! -- Jack Canfield, author, Chicken Soup for the Soul

"Core Transformation is simple magic. No degrees required. If your life feels dry and brittle eat the edges, if you are struggling toward the health that wholeness brings, this book is gift and guide." -- Susan Berry, World Health Organization

"Core Transformation offers a profound way to touch the depths of our own soulfulness. I had an immediate and deep experience of self-love with it." -- John Bradshaw, author Creating Love

"Core Transformation takes us beyond assumed boundaries, into the virgin territories of the self--a place of greater courage and love, into the wellspring of authenticity, the core of being." -- Dan Millman, author, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior and The Life You Were Born to Live

"I am astounded. Suddenly we have a bridge from psychopathology (or plain human problems) to enlightenment. There it stands, every beam in place, and traffic already passing over it. -- Wilson Van Dusen, Ph.D., author, Returning to the Source: The Way to the Experience of God; former Chief Psychologist at Mendocino State Hospital, CA

"This book will take you there. Compassionately, clearly and interestingly written, with just the right balance of idea and procedure. There is no limit to the good Core Transformation could end up doing." -- Hugh Prather, author, Notes to Myself

Core Transformation offers a profound way to touch the depths of our own soulfulness. I had an immediate and deep experience of self-love with it. --John Bradshaw, author, Creating Love

I am astounded. Suddenly we have a bridge from psychopathology (or plain human problems) to enlightenment. There it stands, every beam in place and traffic already passing over it. I know therapist types will make ready use of it, and I hope religions will embrace the profound implications of this fine new bridge into their territory. --Wilson Van Dusen, Ph.D, former Chief Psychologist at Mendocino State Hospital, CA

One of the most important works I have come across in any field, Core Transformation should be adopted as the principal therapy by every therapist in the country, understood and practiced by everyone in the helping and legal professions, as well as parents and teachers. I stand in awe at the simplicity, clarity and directness of a work of such magnitude, and will do all I can to promote it. --Joseph Chilton Pearce, author, The Crack in the Cosmic Egg, The Magical Child, Evolution s End

5.0 out of 5 stars A Method That Really Works, March 2, 2004
By MAURICIO AGUIAR (Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have been an NLP Master Practitioner since 1996 and I recommend the Core Transformation method from personal experience. It is a powerful technique, based on reframing, that goes more or less like this:

1) You identify a behavior/feeling/response you want to change

2) You find a 'part' of yourself that is responsible for the behavior/feeling/response

3) You recognize that the part actually has a positive purpose and ultimately wants to do you good or protect you

4) You make peace with the part and become friends with it

5) You uncover the part's purpose, probably after passing through several layers of intent - you get to the 'core'

6) You ask the part to keep its purpose (which is positive) and change the behavior/feeling/response associated with it, reaching the same results by another, more ecological behavior/feeling/response

7) After the procedure things will begin to change, even though you may not be immediately aware or it - your unconscious mind may not provide you with that knowledge.

In 1997 I had to make this big change in my life and I was not sure how to begin. Fortunately I was lucky to participate in a Core Transformation workshop given by Connirae and Tamara Andreas in Denver. It was an incredible experience that helped me a lot, even though only years later I had enough perspective to appreciate all its influence on my life. The effect, I now believe, was that I came back from the workshop feeling much stronger and sure of myself, with all my internal parts aligned.

You may choose to take the Core Transformation workshop before or after reading this book. This book can be just a book or a powerful change tool depending on how you use it. You can do the exercises yourself or (better) with the help of a partner.

I hope my account helps and that you use this book to make the changes you want in your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A profoundly effective, simple, and painless technique., June 14, 1999
By A Customer
The Core Transformation technique described in this book is extremely effective, simple, and not only painless, but as you experience the Core States, it is actually profoundly pleasurable.
When reading this book, do remember that "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch". You need to actually do the exercises in the book. If you try to read it on a purely intellectual level, it will seem too detailed and repetitive. If you have even one experience with just the first part of the process, and you see the way it works, the details and real-life examples that this book provides are a gold-mine.
After my first couple uses of this process, steps six through ten seemed superfluous - the results of the first part were so dramatic, that I couldn't imagine any way to improve on it. These later steps are, however, a real added bonus in terms of long-term integration and incorporation of the change process.
I don't think I'm that unusual of a person, and I don't understand how this book can have been in print for three years, and not be more popular.
I've read dozens of self-help books, and spent hours in both individual and group therapy, but have never made as much significant progress in as short a time as I have in the first three or four times I've used the Core Transformation technique.
Some people believe that the cure for cancer has been discovered, but is being hidden, so that researchers can continue to collect billions of dollars in research funds. Could the same thing be happening among psychotherapists ? Has Andreas discovered the cure for neurosis, but it's being suppressed by the professional establishment so that they can continue to collect billions of dollars for therapy ?
I don't know why this book has not been acclaimed as the monumental psychological breakthrough that it obviously is, but I do know that it's the best self-help book I've ever read.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I highly recommend this book, and suggest that you get yourself a copy - while you still can !

5.0 out of 5 stars I can sleep, November 28, 1999
By Shelly L. Fritz (New Mexico) - See all my reviews
A patient of mine was reading this book and brought it in telling me that I should read it. I told him that I didn't have any problems in my life and that it would be a waste of my time. He insisted, so I bought it, read it and decided to work on my insomnia. I have instantly gone to sleep at 10:30 every night since I did the core transforation (about a month ago). Before I had to take a sleeping pill or stay awake til about 3 AM. This is the first self-help book I have read in recent memory that has reaaly made a difference in my life. I'm on-line with Amazon right now to buy 6 more books for some of my employees and friends.
