Fluoride=metabolic poison, evil science, & social corruption, July 29, 1999
A courageous and straightforward account of fluoride and the politics of fluoridation by one who was in the thick of the scientific and political battles for over a quarter of a century. Yiamouyiannis, a Ph.D. in biochemistry, documents with about 50 pages of references a very readable explanation of how fluoride upsets the body's collagen metabolism, causing damage to bones, teeth, connective tissue, arteries and skin; how it damages DNA and upsets the body's ability to repair its DNA, with tumors and cancer as a result; and how it damages enzymes and proteins, upsets the immune system, and causes autoimmune diseases. He thoroughly refutes the idea that fluoride is beneficial in preventing tooth decay, and that it has a useful function in human nutrition. It is, in fact, a toxic pollutant generated by many industries, such as the manufacturing of aluminum, phosphate fertilizer, steel, nuclear materials and fuels, ceramics, brick, glass, concrete, to name a few. These folks have turned a profit by disposing of this poison in our water supplies. Yiamouyiannis lays out the long, ugly, and outrageous history. He is a lot more even-tempered in his presentation than you will probably be after reading his book. A must-read for anyone contemplating the issue of water fluoridation, and wanting to do so from a factual basis. well documented, a must read, December 2, 2004
How a reviewer can call this 'junk science' is beyond me. Oh...an -anonymous- reviewer. Check the info on both sides; Yiammouyiannis is loaded with references and documentation, both in footnotes and as part of the text. He answers every countercharge one by one, in detail, and was eager to speak to any group and debate with any opposing speakers, any time. They weren't interested.What were they afraid of? The facts. The pro-fluoride faction merely repeat, over and over; "fake", etc. It's a profitable big business to turn this waste product from aluminum smelting into a fraudulant health product, (besides avoiding the incredible costs of burying it in a safe place), too big to let it go no matter how many people it hurts, and if they can keep making their millions by merely not logically arguing the point, why not?

The truth about fluoridation, without the hysteria, October 5, 1998

The author reviews the pertinant research and reveals the many ommissions, mistruths and outright lies foisted on the U.S. population by fluoride advocates. Building from a chemical and biological foundation which is presented in clear language, the book lays to rest any controversy over fluoridation: it is a grave error brought to us by vested interests and uninformed zelots. This book ought to be required reading for any American considering drinking fluoridated water, and for anybody learning how to build a case about a scientific subject.
