4.0 out of 5 stars "Hassles" made easy with the help of one little book, October 30, 1998
By A Customer
"A Cooperative Method of Natural Birth Control" by Margaret Nofziger is a book that in an easily understandable manner helps women get to know their own body better. Most of us know about counting days and circling in days at the calendar. But there is always insecurity... Why? Because we are not machines, but humans, and humans don't always go by the clock.

For a Catholic couple, or others who prefer not to use artificial contraceptives, the method of natural family planning can bring a new dimension into their relationship. Natural family planning doesn't have to be a hassle, and it doesn't have to be like a cold shower either. Quite on the contrary it gives people the opportunity of thoroughly enjoying their marriage without fear of unwanted pregnancies; or it helps find the best time to conceive if children is what they want.

This book gives the reader an easily understandable method of figuring out which days she is fertile and which days she is not. The diagrams are easy to interpret as well; at least I think so, and I usually don't understand a thing about diagrams !!

The woman reader will also learn about other things that may constitute a larger margin of error when using the natural family planning method, things that she may not be aware of when counting days or measuring body temperature.

All in all, I recommend this book, both to couples who want to learn more about natural family planning, as well as to women who want to know more about how the female body works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Natural, July 10, 2002
By A Customer
This book is explains more about HOW the female monthly works than any I've ever seen. Explaining when a pregnancy can and can't occur, as well as the changes occuring during each phase. This would have been great as a 12 year old in the 7th grade "health" class. The book sticks strictly with the different signs and symptoms of the female monthly cycle. Uses plain english, without being offensive or prudish. As a mother of three -- it was worth the time I spent reading it. Any Mom with a daughter, a married couple who wants a natural birth control, or who are trying for a baby. This book removes the guesswork.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little too thin, January 14, 2000
By James van damme (Rome, New York) - See all my reviews
This book is small and easy to read, but not as comprehensive as "the Art of Natural Family Planning" by Kippley, or even Aguilar's "The New No Pill, No Risk Birth Control". Good to get the basic idea, though.
