This book's real focus is on his legal and professional difficulties; Naessens joins the ranks of Gerson, Hoxey, and others whose alternative treatments led to medical ostracism. Bird has investigated his story well, but since he is a true believer, it's hard for the reader to get a balanced view. But subject collections on alternative or unproven methods, especially for cancer or AIDS, should acquire this.
