4.0 out of 5 stars The Government Models:Development of the Colt Model of 1911, May 24, 2001
By A Customer
Mr.Goddard's book is a fine one and was the best on the market until Mr. Clawson's book on the same subject was published. A complete arms library should contain both publications, but I personally feel Mr. Clawson's is a pace or two better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great resource for most of us old dogs, January 21, 2003

Far from being a serious collector, I have owned several over the years, used them in IPSC and IDPA, and even to take white tail. I am always on the lookout for nice old Colts when I see them. This book has given me all I needed to be a little better educated on age, relative value, and authenticity. Now if I could just get it to fit in my back pocket...
