5.0 out of 5 stars Desert first -- but a full course meal, February 14, 2003

I have given this one as gifts to several people -- including a niece, a brother-in-law, and a friend that I write in prison.

So far, it's unanimous -- it looks like it's going to be simplistic and childish, but its deep. It emphasizes that salvation comes from Christ's righteousness, and not our own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless Gem, January 9, 2003
By "saintem" (Geneva, IL USA) - See all my reviews
Although written as fith in The Chronicles of Peniel Series, Magwort and the Master can easily stand alone. It is a deceptively quick read. Once is not enough to mine every nugget of insight; a thousand times will be too few to have completed the job. It is a book to grow up and old on, for each reading in each season of life will bring to light a new facet of this gem's beauty. It is Christian allegory at its finest, and as such, is a catechetical jewel!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, January 8, 2003
A Kid's Review
I think Mr. McCoy does a great job of telling a great horse story, and then relating it to a biblical moral, and especially how Christ does everything for us, even though we think it isn't always ggod for us it really is the best thing for us in the end. Read the book.
