About the Author
David Erb is a writer, editor, and publisher. He has been a mechanic, service manager, and teacher most of his life. During the 1960s and 70s, he was a service representative for the Ford Motor Company and taught Ford Division service school for several years. For 16 years he has been a teacher of things mechanical at both college and secondary levels. He currently teaches high school in an ASE certified automotive technician program. Mr. Erb produces the publication of the J.I. Case Collectors Association, Inc., Old Abes News, with subscribers in the United States and many off-shore countries. When he is not writing about or working on old Case tractors, he plays piano and drives an old pickup truck.

Eldon Brumbaugh joined Case in May 1953 as a field test engineer at the Phoenix, Arizona proving grounds. During his years with Case, he was director of corporate engineering, and was responsible for the J.I. Case proving grounds, design center, and product safety ad engineering standards. Mr. Brumbaugh was responsible for establishing the design criteria and engine requirements for the joint venture with Cummins Engine Company and the J.I. Case Company. When he retired from the J. I. Case Company in 1988, Mr. Brumbaugh was director of J. I. Case product performance and evaluation, with responsibilities for all product testing, product styling, and statuary regulations.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for Case tractor owners, June 17, 1999
By A Customer
A excellent book that covers the history, development, specs, and production of J.I. Case tractors and machinery (they even cover Cases' involvment in cars and airplanes!). Erb and Brumbaugh cover darn near everything Case owners would want to know.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you like steam, this book covers it., March 27, 1999
By A Customer
This book covers the steam aspect of Case that other books neglect. If you want to learn something about Case steam machines, read this book. If there was one soft point, it would be that there could be more pictures of surviving machines in addition to the excellent older photos.
