Dunford, believing that 4-year-olds need the loving attention of their parents more than association with other children, here presents a program developed to provide nursery school experiences for her seven children. The aim is to make the planning and organization of home study easier for other parents. Basic equipment, resource materials and teaching aids, and recipes are followed by units on families, seasons, holidays, foods, animals, health, the working worldin short, a basic curriculum. For each unit she has directions for games, songs, fingerplays, crafts and activities, reading materials, food treats. Suggested books are well chosen, and the activities will appeal to children though adults may find them old hat. Despite the premise that Mommy is the best teacher, anyone interested in operating a nursery program will find this book helpful. Kari D. Anderson, Mary Washington Coll. Lib., Fredericksburg, Va.
