A revolutionary critique of the growth of conservatism and erosion of democracy in the Socialist Workers Party amid the tumultuous 1960s.
Written in 1965 by partisans of the fight to reorient the Socialist Workers Party, CRISIS AND LEADERSHIP provides a visionary analysis of economic and political developments and a fascinating appraisal of the Black movement and the conditions of women and labor during that pivotal period. The authors went on to found the Freedom Socialist Party, the first and only Bolshevik feminist party. Its founding documents are published for the first time in this book.
Includes a new introduction, extensive historical notes, and index.
