Editorial Reviews
From Library Journal
Harrison and Rosenfeld (Artwalks in New York, LJ 8/91) here describe access to 30 sites in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New England that are appropriate for day trips by the physically disabled, those with young children, or ambulatory adults of all ages who enjoy the simple pleasures of gardens, outdoor sculpture, academic cultural offerings, and natural settings. Each four- to seven-page entry clearly lists the hours, historical context of the site, handicap accessibility, admission charge if applicable, phone number(s), what one will find at the site, and clear driving directions (some even have maps). As a former New Englander who has been to several of the sites listed, this reviewer found the information correct and current. This is a jewel of a book that all public libraries in the Northeast ought to provide their disabled and/or senior citizen patrons. The low price is also an added attraction.?Scott Johnson, Meridan Community Coll. Lib., Miss.
