Editorial Reviews

Review

"The Beer Drinker's Bible belongs at every bar, every restaurant, every bathroom and every desk. Entertaining, extremely informative, and amazingly interesting, this Bible will resolve a lot of debates, change a few habits and open a few doors. Gregg Smith is well recognized as our best beer historian." -- Daniel Bradford, All About Beer Magazine

"A bunch of the boys were sitting around the saloon the other night when the conversation turned to whether the glasses we were drinking from were lions or Hogarths. Luckily, we had a copy of The Beer Drinker's Bible at hand. Like the real Bible, this one contains answers to many of life's most pressing questions, but all these have to do with quotes, obscure words and phrases pertaining to beer, brewing and quaffing." -- Dick Kreck, The Denver Post

5.0 out of 5 stars Bibulous!, February 6, 2002
The Beer Drinker's Bible is just was I've been looking for (and a perfect addition to your Friday Night Bible Study). Loaded with trivia and obscure facts virtually impossible to find elsewhere and tailor made for settling those inevitable late night arguments. I've won more than a few beers thanks to this handy tome and you can too!!

5.0 out of 5 stars a pint o'fun, July 19, 2000

Beer, what more can I say... This book covers it all. No serious drinker should imbibe without this book on the shelf at home. It is great for solving all of your tavern quandries. I have yet to find a question that the book doesn't cover. Get yours today, and raise a pint... Cheers!

4.0 out of 5 stars good reference book, October 12, 2005
A great reference book for people who love beer and beer history. Information is listed in alphabetical order, with a brief description of each entry. Keep this one handy. However, it is not a conventional type book, it's more of a fun-fact book. BTW the author is a professional brewer and writer.

1.0 out of 5 stars disorganized and uninformative
Disorganized and uninformative, this book omits important beer topics and definitions and contains lots of useless and uninteresting trivia.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!
Great book. Lots of explainations. Such as, Ale vs. Pale ale, current time and originally. Great to have around for quick reads.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Beer Drinker's Bible
It has all the great definitions of terms that I was looking for.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a very useful guide

This book was a real disappointment: the entries are uniformly uninteresting and uninformative; the author clearly doesn't understand the process of brewing in the least... Read more
