5.0 out of 5 stars Sex toys without the sleaze, October 17, 2001
By A Customer
If you're even thinking about buying a vibrator, buy this slim volume first, and you could save yourself a lot of time, frustration and money (and the same is true if you've already bought your first vibrator but are looking to invest in another ... or another ...).

Joani Blank, founder of the legendary "Good Vibrations" feminist sex shop, has made it her life's mission to take the sleaze and embarrassment out of sex toys, and to provide women (and men) with honest, friendly information to help them pick their way through the vast range of products, ranging from the shoddy to the wonderful, that the "adult toy" industry has to offer. This book gives you a "guided tour" of the many different types of vibrator and helpful advice on how to choose the one that's right for you (and what to do with it once you've got it).

Whether you're looking for a vibrator to help you to orgasm for the first time, or to spice up an already wonderful sex life (or anything in between) - think of this book as the product guide that you won't ever find in a consumer magazine!

3.0 out of 5 stars Vibrators for Sale!, September 11, 2007
This book does an excellent job of explaining everything you ever wanted to know about vibrators but that begs the question: How much do you really need to know? If you are smart enough to bake brownies, you can navigate "Sex Toys 101" without a tutor. Perhaps the detailed explanations would help the completely clueless torn between battery vs. plug-in or front-door vs. back-door but this book is really a cloaked vibrator advertisement so here's a hint: Good Vibrations' beautiful catalog and excellent web site fully explain most of the practical information in this book. Bonus: both are free!
