About the Author
Gary Griffith has collected United States stamps since childhood, and specializes in the stamps of the Series of 1922. His competitive exhibit, "The 2¢ Washington 1922," has won 10 gold medals at national competitions and was included in the American Philatelic Society's "Champion of Champions" competition in 1991. He is a former editor of the United States Specialist, and has contributed to a number of general interest and specialized stamp publications, including Essay-Proof Journal, Linn's Stamp News, Stamp Collector, First Days and Scott Stamp Monthly. A former television reporter and producer, he lives in Washington D.C., where he has been the bureau chief for Hearst Broadcasting since 1989.
