Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Everyone laughs at the title, then comes back and buys the book to help them learn anatomy. Goldberg has used lighthearted illustrations, diagrams, and mnemonics to help students learn clinically oriented systemic anatomy. If you're a first-year medical, chiropractic, or physical therapy student, this is a book you need. --Carolyn Lewis --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

While the book is the same as the previous edition, it now will include an attached CD containing an atlas of hundreds of normal radiologic images. MedMaster will continue to sell the previous edition as supplies last, since the book is otherwise the same, and some students may not require the radiologic CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Most Excellent Book, December 13, 1999
By A Customer
As with other books by Dr. Goldberg, this one is nothing short of miraculous! Through a systems-based approach, an otherwise complicated and tedious subject is transformed into an accesible and enjoyable voyage. Quite honestly, you should leave your standard thick anatomy texts in the corner to use for curls or bench pressing... this book ABSOLUTELY encompasses the key knowledge of anatomy in a fraction of the time. It seems like a gimmick, but it isn't. Having graduated from med school a few years ago, I can still say with authority that this book will serve you well into the future, not to mention on your next test, which will undoubtedly include mostly clinically oriented questions which, in turn, can ALL be answered after a careful and thoughtful review of this book. Don't waste any more time... read this one first!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quirky Mnemonics that Stick, March 20, 2004
By John Vickery (Memphis, TN United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I used this book when studying for my medical school gross anatomy course. When I first read over the sections I was studying in class, I thought that the mnemonic devices were somewhat silly and did not try to depend much on them. However, when I found myself in my first written and practical exams, I began reciting some of the seemingly ridiculous analogies from the book. It turned out to be an excellent help. Clinical Anatomy Made Ridiculously Simple is divided into 17 chapters organized by systems. There are two tables of contents, one that follows the systemic outline of the book and another that jumps around pages but is organized into regions of the body. This makes it easy to approach the book from either the systems or regional study. It touched on virtually every aspect that we covered in class. It is easy to understand and will help the reader when he/she has gotten bogged down in anatomical jargon. Although one should not depend on this book a sole text for the study of anatomy, it would make an excellent companion to any anatomy course.

3.0 out of 5 stars Basic Fundamentals, January 13, 2000
By A Customer
This book gives a good understanding of the basic fundamentals of clinical anatomy. Unfortunately a basic understanding of clinical anatomy is not enough to get you through an anatomy exam in any professional school. If you are getting this book to review some information quickly after you are in practice, I recommend this as a quick reference. If you are looking for a book to get you through the intracacies of the anterior neck, then you will be dissapointed when you look for your grade on the staff bulletin board. There is no quick way to learn anatomy, only the complete way. Don't use this book as your primary source for learning this subject, or you'll end up as just another practitioner that doesn't know the difference between the coracoid and coronoid process.
