Product Description
Drawing on masses of new and rediscovered material, the authors describe Gibran's boyhood in Lebanon, his family's impoverished years in turn-of-the century Boston, and his eventual friendship with that city's intellectual and artistic elite.
About the Author
The two authors are unusually qualified to present this story. The younger Kahlil Gibran, a noted sculptor, is the poet's cousin and namesake. Over a thirty-year period, he was entrusted with a formidable body of work left by the poet. Jean Gibran, a school teacher, has worked closely with her husband in researching this biography.
