This book is a copy of the entries in the account book of arranged passages of Richard Elliott which gives the name of the person paying for the passage, port of departure, and name of passenger and amount paid for ocean or inland passage. The book contains over five thousand names with over 45 ports of departure and over 125 destinations -- most in Michigan, but some in Ohio, Illinois, Ontario and overseas. The majority of the early passengers were from Ireland, with later passengers from England, Holland, Scotland, Belgium, Prussia, Poland, Bohemia and other countries. This book includes 13 pages explaining emigrant shipping practices of the times and an explanation on how to interpret the text. The book is fully indexed. 194 pp.
