Lots of historical rum information. Showcases several (but NOT nearly enough) of the Caribbean's fine rums. It has insightful details on particular distilleries and specific subjective evaluations on numerous well-known rums and their aged, pedigreed versions. A fun and useful, well-illustrated handbook for any rum lover or person moving-up to this special spirit!

I like this book because it gives history behind the rums of different regions. But they focus on one brand per chapter. For instance, Matusalem is the brand they focus on under Cuba. However, it is not a Cuban rum anymore; it has been produced in the Dominican Republic since the communist regime settled in Cuba, 1959. I would have liked them to do a highlight on Havana Club instead, but maybe because it's contraband in the US, they didn't bother with something that would be hard to find. Other than that, it's a nice little book, and the pages are in color matte paper. Great coffee/bar table book.
