4.0 out of 5 stars Recommended, February 3, 2001
By Firat CINGI (Istanbul, Maslak Turkey) - See all my reviews
This is one of the best books that I have seen on the description and care of the most common corals for the reef aquarium. It gives information on each coral such as Common name, Scientific name, Lighting needs, Water flow, Aggressiveness and Difficulty of care. This is not a book on "how to" setup a reef tank book but an excellent reference guide on corals and the proper care of these animals. Many great pictures and short but very informative descriptions make this a must have to the Reefkeeper. By the way, Eric Borneman (a.k.a. Eric Hugo) is one of the best known most knowledgable contributors on the Internet and reefkeeping Mail and Usenet Groups.

4.0 out of 5 stars A practical guide - without practises, March 29, 2000
By A Customer
A great book concerning the subject on how to stock your aquarium, but - more information on what and how to feed the corals, how to insure that they grow etc. would have been helpful. Use it as an encyclopedia and a stocking guide, these purposes the books fulfill brilliantly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful photographs, but expect a bit more information, January 12, 2000
By A Customer
This book is like a quick reference atlas. With beautiful and clear photographs, you can identify each coral. The growing conditions are classified into several categories including light, water flow, etc, and you can find it at a glance. This is a very good book, but I want to expect more detailed information about each coral.

A nice book indeed, but not too helpful for the more experienced reef aquarist, that looks for a wider range of corals species.
