Spirit Whisperers are "way showers." They show us that education can be much more than ranking, rating, and judging our unique children. They remind us that shame-based, right/wrong, competitive doctrines do not work in today's schools and are not working in our society. They help us see that the test makers have shaped their tests and now the tests are shaping us, determining much of what we value as educators and citizens. They help us stay conscious of the notion that real education has nothing to do with covering content. Education is now and has always been a drawing out of what already exists within the student rather than a putting in of what we see as necessary to fill perceived deficiencies.

Spirit Whisperers are "way showers." They show us that education can be much more than ranking, rating, and judging our unique children. Spirit Whisperers give us hope. They help us create a vision of an educational system that doesn't perceive failure. that grants dignity without it needing to be earned, that recognizes punishment as serving the needs of the punishing adult rather than those of the student, that holds the child in a state of grace, even as appropriate consequences are implemented. They help us see the value of treating every child as special without the limiting beliefs of "best" and "better". Spirit Whisperers help us lift our eyes, our hearts, and our spirits to see and remember again what is possible when the main purpose of education becomes the creation of who and what we choose to be.
