Keystone Motorcycle Press, September 1994
"In the 420 page softbound book, Berke has scouted the region's best campgrounds, parks, scenic landmarks, and restaurants, always with an eye on value. Each chapter, or trip, contains useful listings of restaurants, lodgings, places of interest, and other helpful tips. Over eighty maps accompany the text, making navigation a snap, and over 255 illustrations highlight many of the attractions.
"If you have a taste for the offbeat, and want to avoid traditional tourist traps, while experiencing the Southwest's finest motorcycling roads, then Motorcycle Journeys through the Southwest is for you."
Motorcycle-Sport, January 1995
"I wish I'd been sent this book a few months earlier, before I did my own little bit of exploring in the southwest, for it is chock full of information for the tourist. Yes, I know that it is fun to find out for yourself but I am never adverse to accepting a helping hand, especially if time is limited. Covering Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado, it offers 66 "rides" in what must be one of the most beautiful parts of a beautiful country, routes that have been traversed by the author, Marty Berke, on his BMW. Scanning the pages awakened many memories for me and reminded me that, so far, I really haven't scratched the surface. A few of the suggested routes I have already followed and plenty more I wish I had.
"Also listed in the book are motorcycle dealers, restaurants and a wealth of helpful and practical advice, like not hurtling right up to 10,000 feet, risking altitude sickness, but spending a couple of nights at 5,000 feet. Believe me, he is right! It is certainly a book that will accompany me when I return to Colorado."
