This book compiles many of these resident lists from various sources such as the Archivo Geneal de Indias in Sevilla, Spain. It contains census, military, and other types of lists along with lists of landowners, sugar plantation owners and more.

Peter E. Carr is a native of Cuba with over 30 years experience in the fields of historical and genealogical research worldwide. He is the editor of the Caribbean Historical & Genealogical Journal since 1993. He has lectured on genealogical research methods and sources throughout the United States. He holds membership in various academic and general organizations recently being named as the Ethnic Liaison of the California Genealogical Alliance.
