"Be Street Smart - Be Safe" targets elementary school age children. However, it does it in a very interesting way. It is intended for the child and the parents. A fun and activity book for children, written entirely in rhyme. In the book "Be Street Smart - Be Safe / Raising safety minded children", Careful Lee the hound teaches children how to be alert and aware of safety, without frightening them. Since the book lends itself to acting out the different scenarios, and "What if..." games, kids don't even realize that they are learning very important lessons. Yet, the lessons get ingrained in their minds. The book is written for children in grades K-6th but can be read to and understood by children as young as 3 years of age.
