5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific story with a lot of history, June 8, 2000
By N Tenure (New York) - See all my reviews
When someone gave me a copy of Ghenghis Khan, I was sure it would be awful. Who wants to learn about this powerful man? I read it out of curiousity and have to admit it was gripping. Ghenghis Khan himself was of Eur-Asian descent with red hair. He amassed a enormous military machine to conquer the Asian world. The book is filled with glorious historical detail that seems to be very well reserached including the land descriptions. I was impressed. In addition, the author, Florence Prusmack, slowly reveals a fascinating personality in Khan. He was a military genius, charismatic leader, wonderful husband and lover, playful and strong father besides being a very moral man. I truly was fascinated with the insights into this man. I recommend the book as a solid, gripping read for anyone who loves interesting characters, and good historical detail.
