Review

Besides his talent as an athlete, Brad Kearns is a helluva story teller. If you like endurance sports, you'll love this book. -- Bob Babbitt, Competitor Magazine, 1996

Product Description

This book details the life of triathlete Brad Kearns, from his beginnings in the sport, to life on the pro circuit. Kearns offers a unique inside look on the challenges and rewards of succeeding in triathlons, where many professional competitors struggle to make ends meet, while dedicating their lives to the arduous training regimen and disciplined lifestyle required for success. This self-effacing account of his athletic journey is laced with hilarious tales of mischief and high-risk adventure, in a sport where the unique, close-knit fraternity of athletes are cutthroat in competition, yet "cut-loose" off the race course.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most worhtwhile Triathlon read yet, May 24, 1998
Sick of being told how to do this or that? This book is for you. Brad tells hilarious stories of his training, racing and traveling. You'll find yourself laughing out loud. Brad is one of the true characters of the sporting world.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most entertaining triathlon book EVER written, May 18, 1998
By A Customer
In all the triathlon books and magazines out there, there is very little insight or perspective about what it is like to be a pro triathlete. It also had some interesting and very funny insights about entering the corporate world out of college and wondering if that was what life was all about. I'm sure many people can relate to that, triathletes or not.

The book came in the mail from Amazon at 4 p.m. and I read straight through until 12:45 a.m., laughing the whole time. If you don't like this book you must be an "A.B." - get the book to find out what that means!

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun and informative read, April 26, 2003
By Caleb (Newbury Park, CA) - See all my reviews
As a former teammate of Brads, I enjoyed reading of his antics and career moves in the sport. He writes well and conveys his message nicely. I'm looking forward to the sequel. Keep up the good work Brad!
