Product Description
It's here--the pocket guide to America's best baseball park. The A-Z authority on "going to the game". With this handy, one-of-a-kind guide, you too can master the trip to Fenway Park like a pro and enjoy the game hassle-free (while keeping your wallet intact!). Complete with humorous illustrations and a challenging Fanhood Quiz. Fenway in Your Pocket helps you save time, money and aggravation with tips on how to pick the best seats, how to avoid traffice, where to park, and what (and what not) to eat. Fenway in Your Pocket also helps you have fun by teaching you the Fenway "Beer Rules", Fenway slang and lingo, how to interact with umpires and opposing pitchers, the hidden meaning behind the retired numbers, and much more!

From the Author
This book is about Fenway Park, one of the remaining ball parks from baseball's early years. In an era of fabricated nostalgia, Fenway serves as a reminiscent reminder of the way baseball used to be. A night at Fenway isprobably little different than one fifty years ago when Ted Williams was terrorizing opposing American League pitchers.

This book is not about boring history or "who cares" trivia. It is a user's guide to Fenway, written for you, the Fenway parishioner, to help you get the most out of your experience at the game. It will also help you leave with a few bucks left in your pocket. Whether it's a helpful tip on where to park your car, or a review of the "Fenway Beer rules," you'll be coached, step by step, throughout the entire Fenway experience.

I hope you take this guide with you whenever you venture off to the park. I also urge you to fill out the survey in the back of this book with your own ideas and tips on how to enjoy the Fenway experiences, and send it to our PO Box address. Your unique perspective will help us to continually improve this guide and help fans enjoy their experience all the more.

As you join the two million plus fans who enter Fenway's cozy confines each summer, use this guide to its fullest and your'll be guaranteed a great time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for baseball and Red Sox fans!, November 30, 1998
By A Customer
Dame captures the essence of a visit to Fenway Park and mixes real world wisdom with practical tips for survival. This book contains everything you need to know if you are going to a Red Sox game. And...it really does fit in your pocket! My only question is: where are the other stadiums. I need a "Foxboro in your pocket" and the rest...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fenway in your Pocket is a great guide, January 23, 1999
By A Customer
Dame has put together a FANTASTIC guide to help maximize one of the great joys in spectator sports: going a Red Sox game at Fenway Park. His tips are practical and creative. From parking to eating, this book has it all. If Pesky's Pole intrigues you or if you want to know what words to yell at the latest overpaid Sox free agent who strikes out with the bases loaded, this book delivers the goods. A must for any true Sox fan!

1.0 out of 5 stars Suggest you try an alternative to Fenway in Your Pocket, October 17, 2002
By Wanda Fish (Slopes of Mauna Kea, Hawai'i) - See all my reviews
The highlight of our recent trip to Boston was a game at Fenway. I bought the book for my husband who read it before we went and did not find it interesting. I read it when we got back and found very limited amount of specific information on Fenway. Much of it explained baseball and its oddities that are true in any park.
Fenway was quite accessible, and easily navigated. The fans and stadium personnel were relaxed, outgoing, and quite helpful. The fans themselves can give you any tips or explain any oddball yells. The ones in the book were not heard.
If you are going to enjoy the game and see the park, you don't need this book to do it. If you want to know the history and legends of Fenway, this book does not have it.
