Tired of cookbooks? Here's one to spark your cooking imagination. Rhône Appétit presents recipes that are fresh without going so far afield that the family won't try them. The recipes are easy, important to most busy people. The book is clearly laid out, a boon when open on the kitchen counter. Easy to read, easy to do, and really educational, as far as learning about the American Rhône varietals. A winner.

Rhône Appétit's punning title gives an inkling of the cordial mood that pervades the second title in the wine-Friendly Food Series. For many readers the flavors of the Rhne grapes might seem, well, different, but Jane O'Riordan's spin on classic dishes and her innovations provide just the right table setting for getting used to the new kids on the block. Rod Smith's wine descriptions read like 'Pictures at an Exhibition'!
