Review

Murphy's Laws of Combat is a must-read for fans of the military satire genre. This well-written piece allows readers to lose themselves in the world of mishaps and humor that can be found within every military unit. The book starts off with the origin of Murphy's Law and the way it formed into the basic laws for whimsical ills that befall mankind. The laws are then broken down into sections, which include Murphy's General Rules, Murphy's Technology Laws, and Murphy's Technological Advice. From there the author draws on his personal knowledge and sense of humor to jump headlong into Murphy's Laws of Combat. For the thousands of military personnel out there, this section is definitely for you. It is filled with laws, superlatives, guides, and oaths that will keep you amused for hours, with topics ranging from laws of combat for infantry and aviation, to oaths of enlistment, to rules for dating a warrior's daughter. To top it off, the author includes interesting facts on the heritage of the American Warrior. He focuses on the history of anthems for each of the armed forces and the national anthem. The Code of Conduct and General Orders, as well as the beginnings of Memorial Day and Veterans Day, also are addressed. He closes with the warrior's rules for life. The author provides us with a magnificant book of military humor, with enough facts and history to keep us coming back for more. It will come in handy at Happy Hour too! --Leatherneck Magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars A good read for everyone, February 5, 2010

This book contains lots historical trivia I found to be very interesting. Not everything in the the book is specifically directed at the soldier. A persons could apply the often humorous advice to "combating" life's problems. A good book for the bathroom or out on the coffee table.
