Editorial Reviews

Product Description
This is the one book that every dog owner should have on the shelf. It's a comprehensive "How To" resource that offers you proven solutions to specific pet behavior problems. From agression to housebreaking, from chewing to chasing...and everything in between. And along the way, the book never forgets the pet's perspective or the master's role in the relationship. But "Tricks I Taught My Master" is so much more than a reference manual; it's a repository of wit and wisdom from one of the world's leading animal behaviorists, Dr. Robert M. Andrysco. Topics are presented with warmth and humor. Anecdotes and real life examples illustrate his points. This is a book you'll enjoy reading from cover to cover.

About the Author
Dr. Robert M. Andrysco is a graduate of Ashland University, with degrees in biology and chemistry. He has a Master's degree in Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology from Ohio State University. But it is his unique doctoral degree, also from Ohio State, that sets him apart. It combines veterinary medicine, animal behavior and human behavior. Widely known as a pioneer in the field of Pet Behavior Management, Dr. Andrysco has served much of the midwest. For five years he had his own TV show on NBC in Chicago, called "Talking Pets." He is the Pet Behavior Specialist for the Radio Systems Corporation, which is dedicated to improving relationships between pets and their owners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saved my dog's life!, February 25, 2003
By Rachel Berecin (Cary, Indiana) - See all my reviews
First, I must say that the one review I read was totally incorrect and obviously written by someone that did not read DR. Andrysco's book. Yes, Dr. Andrysco does recommend the use of consequences IN SOME CASES. None of these are harmful to a dog. He DOES recommend the use of positive reinforcement in many areas of his book. Thus for anyone to say differently either did not read his book or is a liar. I have read his book and I then retained Dr. Andrysco for his services. I had been to three dog trainers - none of whom could help me change my dog's aggression towards other dogs while on walks. Dr. Andrysco helped me, helped my dog and thus kept my dog from being put down. I love Dr. Andrysco's techniques and my dog loves Dr. Andrysco. BUY THIS BOOK!

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT TRAINING BOOK!, February 28, 2003
By Ben Butler (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews
My dogs are really coming along! Let me say that Dr. Andrysco's book is so right on. I have nine dogs, and I know first hand that you HAVE to be the alpha "dog" with your pet or they'll walk all over you. I've been employing Dr. Andrysco's techniques for several weeks now and my dogs are starting to behave much better. They don't fear me, they just know I'm the boss and they must behave. They're very happy and display a great wish to please me. I am not feared at all, I am respected. I've tried reasoning, treat rewards, and only praise techniques, and none of those methods were successful. Dr. Andrysco's techniques REALLY work. If you are looking for a pet book that tells you what you need to do to get excellent behavior results, then get buy this one. Thanks, Dr. Andrysco!
