Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review
Parents hear all the time about what a great resource the Internet is, but it's often tough to know where to start. Searching for information to help with homework often yields more garbage than useful material, and there's always the risk of stumbling across something offensive while online. 300 Incredible Things for Kids on the Internet provides 300 starting points for parents and kids who want to explore the Internet together, safely and constructively.

Essentially, this is a collection of Web addresses, with little commentary, that you can visit with your browser. The sites cover a considerable range of topics from general-reference sites (including dictionaries, encyclopedias, and almanacs) to specialized sites (literature, space exploration, science projects, dinosaurs, pets, history--you name it). Everything's screened for kid-suitability, though the content of the various sites appeals to different age groups (say, from preschool through junior high).

Plus, Leebow includes a selection of parental-interest sites. These deal with parenting advice, education issues, health, and safety. These sites also address Internet issues, including objectionable content and--for those parents who need to catch up to their kids' skill level--the basics of Web surfing. --David Wall

4.0 out of 5 stars a good starting place, May 15, 1999
By A Customer
I hadn't really expected it to be just a list of internet addresses but even so I was quite pleasantly suprised. Even my 13 year old computer whiz kid son was fairly impressed - not that he would admit to it! nd it's not just for kids either - I found a few sites that I was interested in - mind you, I'm a big kid at heart!

Children are our most precious commodity. The book 300 Incredible Things for Kids on the Internet is filled with great resources from the internet which is safe and constructive information.

These resources are virtually a collection of web addresses that you can visit with your web browser. These addresses are full of subjects which range from general reference - dictionary, encyclopedia to specialized subjects - literature, space, history, pets - you name it. It can be all found in this book.

Another rewarding experience with this book is that both the parent and kids can go online and browse to find valuable information.
