PreSchool-K-When Sally Snail brings Surf Sammy a box from his Uncle Joe, he is excited to find a new computer. It comes to life, introduces itself as Mr. Wits, and teaches Surf Sammy and his friend Liz about what computers can do and how to use them. The terms that Mr. Wits introduces (printer, monitor, mouse, diskette, etc.) are in bold and are defined briefly in the rhymed text. The cartoon artwork does little to enhance the narrative. This is a marginal addition for libraries whose very young patrons have never seen a computer. For slightly older children, stick with Marc Brown's Arthur's Computer Disaster (Little, Brown, 1997) or Dennis Brindell Fradin's Personal Computers (Children's, 1997).
