Review
The accompanying press release indicated this work is "an awesome anthology of short comic book stories featuring fact and fictional tales of murder most foul, shocking suspense, and disturbing down home folklore." It is extensive and does cover a wide range of story types. And it certainly is SOUTHERN-FRIED, to the point of annoyance in some places with the phonetic accents laid on a bit too thick. What it does do is catch the mood of the classic 50s crime comics and pulp fiction. The art with very few exceptions is up to par and on occasion stands out and grabs your attention. [...]
As a whole the work is indeed amazing as it crams an awful lot of variety in 80 pages. Certainly something here for most folk, unless you just don't take a hankerin' to no southern slang.

Michael H. Price is an American original and I'm proud to be involved with him in producing this volume, the first in a series of illustrated anthologies covering a wide range of genres. Combine that with some of the finest talent in the comics industry like Frank Stack, Mark Martin, George Turner and others and you have a bona-fide, sure-fire, and most excellent read. I'd recommend it even if I wasn't involved! -- Larry Shell
