Chain stores, unique specialty shops, antique shops,art galleries, musical instruments, clothing, auto-needs, tools, home, gift shops, etc. are all indexed by exit, category, and alpha by name. Each exit-chapter contains a simple map for the stores at that exit. Within each chapter, each store is discussed in detail, providing address, phone, hours, handicap accessibility, acceptance of major charges, parking availability--lot, street, meter, private lot, rear lot--as well as a brief description of the types of items in the store, and a guide to the price range--all meant to be objective and informative, not judgmental.
About the Author
Linda Habib, a native Manhattanite, living in Fairfield County, CT for the past thirteen years, is a divorced, working mother of two (now twenty-something) children. As with so many working parents, she has found there is little time to spare, but much shopping to do to meet the family's needs, even now, a factor in the creation of this book.
She is an Assistant Principal at one of New York City's largest high schools. A graduate of Hunter College, she holds a Master of Arts in English and a Professional Certificate in Administration and Supervision. In her rare leisure time, she enjoys gardening, rollerblading, aerobic walking, movies, and shopping!
This is her first book.
