Editorial Reviews

Charles Willett, Editor, Counterpoise

This video raises disturbing questions about the power of U.S. secret police agencies, shielded by corrupt politicians and the tightly controlled, mainstream press. Highly recommended for high school, college, law, journalism and public libraries, for civil liberties and public interest groups, and for working journalists, lawyers and public safety officers.

Book Description

Cover-Up In Oklahoma uses eyewitness accounts, expert testimony and extensive 'live' local newscast footage to prove the 'truck bomb' scenario promoted by the government and the mainstream media does not fit the facts. The video shows:

* The damage sustained by the Murrah Federal building could not have been produced by a bomb on the street without additional charges placed on or near internal structural columns.

* The initial news coverage, supported by statements from state, federal and local government officials, described the removal of multiple unexploded bombs from inside in the Murrah Federal building.

* Blast debris was blown out and away from the Murrah Federal building not into it, as would occur with a truck bomb on the street.

* The truck-bomb 'crater', described in the national media, appears to have been an outright hoax.

* Murrah bombing survivors experienced multiple blasts and describe events consistent with the placement of explosives both on the street and inside the Murrah Federal Building.

The presence of bombs within the Murrah Federal building raises disturbing questions about who might have had the access needed to place bombs inside a protected Federal building. In Testimonial of Murrah Bombing Survivor: Jane Graham a federal government employee and the head of her local union describes unfamiliar workmen inside the building, days before the blast. These workmen had architectural plans, wiring and other materials, that fit the description of explosives. Some of these unfamiliar workmen were in GSA attire. Ms. Graham has been unable to get the government to either identify these workmen or to act upon her testimony, which undercuts the government's 'truck bomb' story.

Jerry Longspaugh, the producer of this video, notes, "Cover-Up In Oklahoma is significantly comprised of broadcast video footage that was recorded in the homes of citizens all across the country...due to the origin of the video footage within Cover-Up In Oklahoma, some of it is of marginal technical quality...viewers are urged to concentrate on extracting the abounding content of suppressed information rather than to be sidetracked by any shortcomings of superficial technical quality."

Viewers who do look beyond the technical problems will find a documentary that will force you to confront the probability that elements within our government and within the media are prepared to sacrifice both the truth and the lives of children to achieve their social and political objectives.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some great footage -- editing just okay, October 12, 2001
By Christian J. Pinto (Los Angeles, California USA) - See all my reviews
This video seems to be the work of an amateur videographer who put this together for -- I believe -- a noble cause. He definitely exposes a coverup in the Oklahoma City Bombing, but because of when this video was finished (within the first few months of the incident, I think, prior the McVeigh's trial), there is very little information about the aftermath. The video shows you again and again that multiple bombs were reported by seemingly every major news source, and does an excellent job of convincing you that many bombs were planted in the Murrah building. There is even an interview with a demolitions specialist that proves that the "single bomb" theory concocted by the government could not have worked. In this regard, the video is worth seeing if you have any questions about those issues. However, this video does not go into other details of the incident -- there is almost no information about Timothy McVeigh or his trial and execution.

On a creative note: the video is sometimes hard to watch because it is roughly edited, and repeats itself many times over. Again, if you need to be convinced about the multiple bombs, get this video.

At the end of the tape there is also an interview with a woman who survived the incident. The purpose of her testimony is so that she can point out two men who were shown in a news clip who she thinks might have something to do with the bombing. This interview is not professionally done and is not dramatically interesting. But if eyewitness knowledge about two suspicious characters is useful for your investigation, then it is certainly worth watching. She gives specific details of these men, and what they did prior to the bombing in the Murrah building that might be helpful for somebody tracking down bits and pieces of information to prove or disprove a theory.

All in all, I am thankful to the producer for doing this work and informing the public -- I only wish he might have had the funding and/or support to have produced a more thorough and polished testimony.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exposes the truth behind the OK city bombing, May 7, 1999
By A Customer
Dispite poor production quality, this video utilizes news footage brilliantly, replaying the initial news coverage that was broadcast immediately after the explosion. By using sources that were so close to the story, the producers make their point quite convincingly that there were others involved in the OK city bombing. Quite possibly people from out own govt. 5.0 out of 5 stars Does the US Government Need a Climate of Fear?, December 31, 1998
By A Customer
This video provides great source material on the Oklahoma bombing.

The notion the United States government is willing to stand by and let Americans be killed was supported in the October, 28 1993 New York Times article "Tapes Depict Proposal to Thwart Bomb Used in Trade Center Blast" by Ralph Blumenthal, which describes the FBI informant Emad A. Salem complaining about the government failure to stop the World Trade Center bombing. The article notes, "Law-enforcement officials were told that terrorists were building a bomb that was eventually used to blow up the World Trade Center, and they planned to thwart the plotters by secretly substituting harmless powder for the explosives..." At one point in some taped transcripts, Mr. Salem recounts a conversation he said he had with FBI agent Mr. Anticev, saying ,"I said 'Guys, now you both saw this bomb went off and you both know that we could avoid that.'" Mr. Salem just couldn't understand why the FBI let the blast go off.

The Oklahoma and World Trade Center blasts helped protect the budgets of America's security apperatus, which were threatened after the colapse of the Soviet Union. Remember the 'Peace Dividend'? Remember the search for a new mission for all those security agencies? END
