Elizabeth Austin, Ph.D., psychologist
Finally, here is a book, lucid and well written, that bridges the worlds of Christianity and psychology without denigrating either. Further, by examining the shadow of the church, this book speaks courageously to the confusion and disillusionment that has caused many to leave organized religion. After reading Shadow Work, I suspect not a few of these same people will return to the church, equipped to help make it the living community it is intended to be.

To say that this book moved me lacks the power in truly describing its impact. It radically changed how I think about myself and my world and enabled me to rethink the power of healing in confronting the shadow.
