Product Description
Just Cruising is the first book to provide an easy, run/walk program that will have you exercising for fun, fitness or even your first half or full marathon with only three workouts per week. Learn how cruising, or using the run/walk mode of exercise, can make workouts fun, flexible and highly effective. This book is for busy people who can walk, but think they can't run and takes novice or sporadic exercisers from physical inactivity to the finish line of their choice. Inspiring success stories throughout the book help motivate you to begin one of three easy-to-follow, goal-oriented cruising programs: Base Training (3-6 miles), Half-Marathon (13.1 miles), or Marathon (26.2 miles). Just Cruising shows you how to avoid injury using the run/walk approach, how to build a stronger body through simple, at-home strength training and how to eat sensibly for proper nutrition and weight loss. Through well-written, reliable information, this book dispels myths and helps to inspire confidence for promoting lifelong physical activity.

From the Publisher
Get fit or get to the finish line of your choice by "cruising" or alternating walking and running. Just Cruising: Simple Fitness for Busy People by Sue Ward shows you how three run/walk workouts per week can get you in shape or train you for a marathon - safely and effectively. This book offers a realistic, goal-oriented approach to fitness and is written with the novice or sporadic exerciser in mind. Walkers can gain more confidence through short bouts of running and runners can ease up on their workouts (and their bodies) by taking short walking breaks. Just Cruising is the first book to bring the worlds of walking and running together, offering more flexibility and enjoyment for those with little time to exercise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read and simple to follow., October 5, 1999
By A Customer
This book is truly inspiring. I am an avid exerciser but never ran a marathon. I have cycled done step aerobics, weight trained, and swam at my health club. This book has gotten me to hit the pavement outside and enjoy another form of exercise. All of the warm up exercises can be used for any form of exercises even walking.

4.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLIFY, RUN, GOT HEALTHY, GOT ATTITUDE. WHAT MORE TO SAY!, September 4, 1999
By A Customer
Sue Ward has created a simple book on how to, with the focus on achievement, and in a simple approach to attaining your goals. My wife ran her first marathon for her goal on her 50th birthday. It made her believe the rest of her life was whatever she wanted it to be. Cruising happen to be the vehicle that became the catalyst for that change. In our complex world we forget the 'how-to' is not any more difficult than common sense, listening to your body, and having motivation surrounding you. This book provides all of the above.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Cruising helped me train for my first marathon!, September 2, 1999
By A Customer
I started the Just Cruising program to help get into shape and lose some weight. Little did I know when I started that 6 months later I'd be running my first marathon! Just Cruising really works - I was able to easily increase my mileage weekly so running long distances was not a problem. I didn't even feel sore after the marathon! I'm still training and plan to complete my second marathon in a few months! This book helped me achieve a goal I never dreamed possible.
