Product Description
CopTalk was written by Police Officers, on laptop computers, in the middle of the night, on lunch breaks, coffee breaks, and in between responding to calls for service. Over 12,000 hours of writing time has been invested in the production of CopTalk. It is not a book about cops! It is a book on how to make your life safer, and it suggests many ways to lesson the chance of becoming victimized by crime, fires, and medical emergencies.
CopTalk is 288 pages and 86 chapters of how not to make costly mistakes some of which can have tragic consequences.
CopTalk can help someone with suggestions on how to get out of domestic violence situations CopTalk can help someone from having their car stolen or broken into. CopTalk can help someone rid their street of drug dealing or gang activity CopTalk can help someone present a case in traffic court. CopTalk can help someone deal with the anxiety of being contacted by an officer. CopTalk can help someone with the challenges of raising todays teenagers. CopTalk can help someone avoid a DUI arrest.
CopTalk is packed with page after page of real life mistakes others have made, and is equally filled with page after page of tips and suggestions as to how to avoid duplicating those mistakes.
Our project began in late 1998, typing a little bit here, and a little bit there. But after thousands of hours of work, we are now proud to introduce the fully revised and edited version!
Our goal is to educate the public based on the philosophy in which CopTalk was written.
"Theres never a cop around when you need one .."
If people knew what steps they could take to protect themselves from being victimized, that would allow hundreds and hundreds of officers across the nation to concentrate on preventing serious crime instead of writing report after report about Mr. Wilsons stereo being stolen from his unlocked car.
"What you dont know will SHOCK you"
CopTalk was written to show people what they are doing wrong and what they can do better. And yes, if people knew the chances they take everyday they would be shocked.
Chances with their vehicles.
Chances with their property.
Chances with their Children!
We are working cops not business people. We are not distributors or retailers. We are just a small group of guys who want to get up on top of a mountain and scream out "Wake up!"
Aside from our daily duties as officers, we maintain a personal safety website packed full of safety information and stories.
