Product Description
Now the low carbohydrate diet is easier than ever! Never before has there been such a delicious array of low-carb dishes in one treasure chest of a book. With this new cookbook, you can enjoy such tempting dishes as Lasagna, Baked Buffalo Wings with Roquefort Dressing, Country Fried Okra, Baked Broccoli & Cheese, Creamy Chocolate Pie and Peanut Butter Kisses.

This cookbook has a collection of over 160 recipes, each under ten carbohydrates per serving and all with a complete nutritional breakdown. The portions are generous and the choices are great. Best of all, these dishes are prepared with everyday food items that are easily found at your local grocery.

Living (and loving) the Low-Carb Life is an excellent source of recipes for those on the Atkins diet, Sugar Busters, Protein Power, The Zone, or any low carbohydrate diet.

From the Author
I originally developed this cookbook for my own benefit. Three years ago I started a low carbohydrate diet and lost 50 pounds. I had lost weight before on many different diets, but I had yet been able to keep the weight off. I finally realized that I had to change the way I eat and have plenty of variety with portions that would keep me satisfied. Now low-carb eating is not just a diet for me, but it is a way of life.

Living the Low-Carb Life is a compilation of recipes that I used to drop the unwanted pounds, but better yet, has helped me keep the weight off. I soon started getting requests from friends and family members to make copies of my recipes for them. There just wasn't enough low carbohydrate cookbooks and resources available on the market. It was then I realized this book could benefit the many other people who were on the Atkins diet, Sugar Busters, Protein Power and various other low carbohydrate diets that did not have easy access to simple, everyday recipes they would need to be successful on their diet.

With these recipes you can shop for normal food items at your local grocery store. And, yes, the whole family can enjoy these meals so there is no longer a need to cook one meal for your family and prepare a separate meal that you are able to eat. These recipes are simple, so you don't need to be a master cook to prepare them and most are ready to serve in about 30 minutes.

If you are on a low carbohydrate diet to lose weight or have reached your goal weight and are just trying to maintain that, I invite you to try the Living the Low-Carb Life cookbook. With this much variety and ease of use, losing weight and keeping it off has never been easier.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother, October 14, 1999
I have bought and used all the low carbo cookbooks out there. Believe me when I tell you I rate this one dead last. I literally fed the cheese and sausage balls to my dog. This woman has no business writing a cookbook. There are some excellent books out there so don't waste your money and time on this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother, September 7, 1999
By A Customer
This book is what happens when a would-be author spots a growing trend and wants to cash in on it. The "recipes" are dreary, unimaginative, slightly altered retreads of what we've found in other (better!) books, and many are little more than ponderously described descriptions of how to prepare the basics that are already staples in our kitchens. If you want something really worthwhile, purchase Fran McCullough's "The Low-Carb Cookbook," and hope that someone else of that caliber, ingenuity, and integrity, writes another book of that sort. This one isn't it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not overly impressed, August 27, 1999
By A Customer
Like the reader from Houston, I was not overly impressed with this book, especially at that price. Many of the recipes included ingredients such as "1 jar spaghetti sauce". Couldn't that thorough research have provided a clue as to the size of the jar? And then, the Chicken Ole and the Chicken Piquante seemed remarkably similar to me(although the Piquante doesn't call for mustard in the ingredients but does in the first sentence of instruction)but the nutrition information varied! In other words, it was OK, but just.
