Product Description
Enter the world of Being the Ball.

In about the time it takes to play a round of Golf, reading Being the Ball will improve your attitude and lower your score GUARANTEED -- or your purchase price will be donated to charity Golf. Regardless, 50% of book profits go to charity Golf.

Being the Ball is an 18 hole (chapter) Cartpath toward toward the higher state of Golf-Awareness. The Outward-nine (chapters 1-9) declares that the Game of Golf is ruled by the Dark Side of the Ball. Explore, understand and avoid the 12 mortal sins of Pride, Envy, Greed, Lust, Anger, Averice, Glottony, Sloth, Swing-Thoughts, Sandbagging, the Ego-Mind, and Universal Existence of Ron.

The Inward-Nine (chapters 10-18) explains the ways to control the "Varmint-Ego Mind" with putter-in-cheek spiritual concepts of Present Moment, Choice, Forgiveness, Detachment, Tolerance, Kindness, Giving, and Being the Captain of Your Own Ship.

About the Author
Billy Balata Golfed his way to become a corporate whiz-kid and quit to follow his dream -- to play in the U.S. Open. After coming close, he walked away because he realized he loved the game too much to hit range balls from dawn to dusk.

B. Balata is currently the leading worthless trophy winner on the unofficial Scottsdale Charity Golf Tour

5.0 out of 5 stars My "Tin Cup" Runneth Over!, August 18, 1999
By A Customer
This is the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" of golf books. It had a provocative, perky spirit that moved my heart with every stroke. It is refreshing to see the dawn of a rising star among golf's rigid thinkers and bad dressers.

Its creative, witty approach to presenting golfs important features makes it a must read for all golfers. Your mantra after reading "Being the Ball" will be "Billy, Billy, Billy" as you check the line of the most pressure packed putt of your life!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A genuinely great golf book., May 28, 2009
Much like Tim Gallwey's famous book "Inner Tennis," this book does not focus on technique, but steps through all the possible reasons you play, arriving finally at the Ultimate Truth and the Ultimate Response.

Unlike Inner Tennis, this book is funny. You end up uncertain if you could afford to play with the author and his buddies, but certain you would love to. A GREAT read for golfers of all skills.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gift for the golfer in your life....Golf Awareness......FUN & FUNNY, August 23, 2006
By Joyce Schwarz "Joyce Schwarz" (Marina Del Rey, CA USA) - See all my reviews
Okay, don't take it all so seriously...it's just a ball right...so look at the darkside of the ball...the evils of golfswing-though...the art of club tossing, five mortal sins to avoid.....the truth about sandbagging.....how to be captain of your own ship (hmm thought it was golf...not sailing?) and being in the present moment ...golf is Zen but in what the authors call tghe putter in cheek book-- you learn how to lower your score...and improve your GOLF ATTITUDE -- NOT~! If you loved caddyshack-- you'll love this.....price is right-- every golfer in the world deserves this for birthday...or stock it in your Pro shop-- keep it on your shelf after a really BAD game...but it's a game remember and you can have a ball if you can't be the ball!

5.0 out of 5 stars Golf Southwest Magazine review August/September 1999 issue
When I opened the package that contained a book "Being the Ball" by some guy calling himself Billy Balata, I thought that it had to be some kind of a joke. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Balata has amazing insight into the game of golf.
All I can say, is after reading this book and applying some of the principles, I cut 5 strokes off of my handicap. Enough said...
