Amazon.com Review
Is there such a thing as a legitimate sexual relationship between an adult male and an underage boy? Most civilized people would answer emphatically "no," and Understanding Loved Boys and Boylovers won't convince them otherwise. Defensive in tone and amateurishly produced, this monograph uses both pseudo-scholarship and anecdotes in its attempt to justify its target audience's actions and feelings. --Christopher Hart

Product Description
Many researchers is the fields of Psychology and Human Sexuality have been taking a fresh look at the "conventional" wisdom which has been the basis for evaluation of intergenerational male/male sexual activities. The long assumed "harm" of such activities has failed to be supported by research, and the sociocultural "wrongness" based on this "harm" is therefore left without any rational basis. An extremely thorough and exhaustive paper, "A Meta-Analytic Examination of Assumed Properties of Child Sexual Abuse Using College Samples" was published in the July, 1998 Psychological Bulletin, the journal of the American Psychological Association. It brought forth howls of protest from right wing radicals all the way up to and including the United States House of Representatives, but after the furor subsided, the paper, having been subjected to intensive examination at every level, has been judged to be true, accurate and objective science.

Previous to this, a collection of papers by such authors as Bullough, Bernard, Schild, Warren, Bauserman, et al., was published as "Dares to Speak", edited by Joseph Geraci. Before that there was "Male Intergenerational Intimacy" by Brongersma. Both of these volumes are currently in print, and are available.

The above mentioned paper and books are intended primarily for researchers, educators, and other people knowledgeable in these areas. Therefore, I have authored a "layman's" introductory volume, "Understanding Loved Boys and Boylovers", which essentially covers the same premises, data, and conclusions as the above, but which is written in mostly non technical language, with the average citizen in mind. This book, while certainly bound to be controversial, and which espouses certain changes in various laws, is carefully maintained within the limits of current laws, there is nothing in it which could possibly concern any postal inspector, or which could create any legal liability. 1.0 out of 5 stars Why should we celebrate moral relativism and degeneracy?, June 8, 2000
By Alo H. Konsen (North Ridgeville, OH USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
...This propaganda piece cobbles together faulty, anecdotal research and shaky appeals to moral relativism in an attempt to marginalize the vast majority of people who correctly believe that pedophilia should be punished, not supported.

Before anyone cries foul about my supposed "intolerance" for "imposing my values", read Koukl & Beckwith's very well-reasoned short book "Relativism: Feet Firmly Planted in Mid-Air", available here on Amazon.com. Moral relativism is a logically unsound philosophy, is completely insupportable, and cannot legitimize the kind of behavior this pro-pedophilia book espouses. By calling me wrong, relativists prove my point. (.....)

1.0 out of 5 stars As if..., May 30, 2000
By John Rankin (California) - See all my reviews
This is yet another pseudo-scientific argument offered in threadbare justification of the homosexual exploitation of youngsters. The APA "study" SafeHaven cites as "extremely exhaustive and thorough" is just as flawed and just as agenda-driven as the recently "peer reviewed" APA "study" purporting to "prove" that fathers are a hindrance to their own children's developmental health. Don't be fooled by selectively culled and massaged "statistics," glib rationalizations, anecdotal padding, and appeals to emotion. All this author has "proven" is that academic degrees and professional licensure are no guarantees of truthfulness, moral rectitude or even common sense. This book has nothing to do with "love," and there is nothing noble or innocent about sexual predators, whether the victim is an adult or, as in this case, a child.

1.0 out of 5 stars Title and cover illustration explain my negative opinion, April 3, 2003
By A Customer
I strongly dislike this book for the following reasons:

It is intended to convince those who dislike pedosexuality that it is a healthy lifestyle choice.

It deals with a tragic reality. There are, unfortunately, many men in our society who participate in sexual relationships with boys. The book portrays these relationships between men and boys in a positive light.

According to this book, the open-minded will realize that SEXUAL RELATIONS BETWEEN MEN AND BOYS can be harmless and even beneficial to the underage boys.

It is, indeed, an "eye-opening" book. I believe the title and cover illustration reveal a lot about the unfortunate message and content of this book. Take a look and decide for yourself.
