5.0 out of 5 stars Straightforward, sensible, August 18, 2000
By A Customer
This book dispenses with the double-speak and presents practical advice in a straightforward manner. I think it would be useful to people in a leadership position, and also quite helpful for those working their way up the corporate ladder and trying to develop a better understanding of where their managers are coming from.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lazer focus on what really counts, August 13, 2000
By A Customer
Great concepts, masterfully presented. This book covers the basic ideas that each of us needs to navigate through work, through life. Beautifully presented, and illustrated, each chapter contained an idea to put to use right away. The author used stories to really bring home the point. A good read for anyone looking for a way to get to the important things in life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple but not simplistic!, August 10, 2000
Forrest Greenslade has written a book which should be on every manager's reference list. Unlike many authors from the corporate environment who take forever to express a concept, he gets right to the point. His example of William of Occam and the reality of "the simplest of theories is preferable" is incredibly refreshing in this age of obfuscation.

I particularly appreciate that Dr. Greenslade understands that the corporate setting is not just for the good old boys anymore. He offers a most concise list of how to adapt to the changing environment in such a way that business can obtain maximum benefit from the expertise of the women, as well as the men, who are now running the top corporations of America and the world.

This book is a delightful example of capable, creative, expert thinking which readily takes on chaos and wins.
