4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Role-playing, December 30, 1999
By Amy Shurts (Denver, Colorado) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book has an immense amount of info! It's good for people who want to learn about the series (much better than that Meet Sailor Moon book), but it's really great for role-playing. The Tri-stat system is easy to use, and yet you can still add personality to your characters! My only beef with this book is that it only followed the story up until Sailor Moon R, and it focused on the dubbed version (if you haven't seen it yet, subtitled japanese Sailor Moon is always much better). And yet, even there, the author made sure to realize that Sailor Moon is a japanese show, and included a great chart for learning the japanese names of the characters, a detailed map and description of Tokyo, and discussed the differences between the American dubbed version and the original Sailor Moon. I'd recommend this book for role-players, and those new to Sailor Moon. If you like Sailor Moon, but don't fit those to catagories, try the new Sailor Moon comics! They're great AND a new story (and the art is wonderful!).

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Buy for the Casual Collector or the Hard Core Fan!, March 26, 2000
By SailorPluto (Honolulu, Hawaii) - See all my reviews
When I bought this book I was a little weary because it was a little pricy. But once I took it home and read it, boy was I glad that I got it! It provides a break down of all the Senshi, Tuxedo Mask, and all the enemies from SM and SMR. What made me really happy though, was the information that was included about the Outer Senshi and the Sailor StarLights. I had not seen any eps with them yet and the information in this book was a real treat. I've been an SM fan for quite a while and I constantly find myself scouring my room trying to find this book because of the vast range of information it contains. From a summary of each episode in SM and SMR, to the inclusion of the missing eps that were not dubbed, a timeline of the "Sailor Moon Universe" and background information on many of the places in the Anime, including the Silver Millennium, and the Negaverse. This book also includes a breakdown of the names and information behind each scouts name, planet and other information you'd want to consider when making your own Senshi for RPG's or Fan Fics. Even if you never plan on joining a Role playing game, this book will provide you with an endless supply of info that I promise you'd spend hours on end looking for on the net.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is not just a "How to Play House Book"..., December 1, 1999
By "smsmercury" (Sterling Heights, MI USA) - See all my reviews
When I first heard of it I thought, "Hey! Who need to learn how to play house! " I thought this book was going to be really stupid and way overpriced, but when I went to a manga/anime store I found this book. It was totally different than I expected! Inside are bios of the characters (whether good or bad), there stregnths/weaknesses, A timeline of who was born (like the year and month, when each episode and big event happened (year and month), and it practically explains everything you need to know. If you've ever had a question like, "When the scouts defeat Queen Beryl, did they start that year over, or did they forget everything altogether?" The Answer is in that book. (I'm not going to spoil it for you) For those that only have seen the NA version or had to miss show, there are also Episode summaries of all the episodes of Japan up to episode #78 (Follow the Leader). If you are just a starting watcher, this book will make you hooked on it for life. Anyone who thinks they know Sailor Moon does NOT till they get this book. There is a page dedicated to telling you where to findinfo on the web, the voice actors/actresses, etc. A DEFINITE MUST HAVE!
