Editorial Reviews
Leslie Blanchard, A Writer's Choice Literary Journal, April 1999
An excellent read for the general public as well as for military hounds. Read the biographies of one hundred women who fought for Russia during World War II--one hundred female heroes that many, in fact most of us, never heard of. These stories will shed quite a different light on pre cold-war Russia, the World Wars, and the "typical" Russian woman. A must read for all Women's Studies. Ms. Cottam spent twenty years researching and writing this fine work.

David M. Glantz, Editor, The Journal of Slavic Military Studies, in a review essay scheduled for publication in March 1999
"The genuine value of these books and the interest they are bound to generate among specialists and general readers alike argue for their wider dissemination. The books should be made available to the wider audience they so richly deserve."
