I will give one positive remark about this book and video: it gave me the IDEA to set up a place to take small scale photographs. After that, I felt that it just wasn't helpful. Considering the amount of money it costs, you would think there would actually be photographs of the low cost set-up, or examples of photographs taken using the set up. Alas, there are none. Only poor quality line drawings, which are difficult to decipher. The video never even shows the setup. I can't imagine it would cost any more money to include the set up in the shot. How am I to believe that the author even uses the setup himself, if I can't even see it in action? Sadly, the video is just the author reading the book.

Overall this was a most depressing purchase. I am a student, and I need to document my work on a regular basis. I had hoped that spending the exorbitant amount of money on this so called informational book and video would help me out. But I must admit I felt a little robbed.

I have since set up my own small scale photo booth. Basically the book put the idea in my head that I could set something up for very little money. Knowing that fact, I think most people would have more luck elsewhere.

Go to Ganoksin.com. The author sells the book for $59.95. I was amazed to see this seller ripping people off this way.

I followed the instructions in this book exactly as Charles outlined them and got fantastic shots on my first roll of film. I've been using the set up for years and recommend it highly to anyone making jewelry or small scale artwork. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. He is also very sensitive to cost and material availability. The lighting set up also works for digital cameras. I recommend this book to anyone wishing to document their work and with some practice, produce slides good enough to use as jury shots, web design or advertisements. This book costs about the same as 1 professional slide so it's well worth the price!
