5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Slice Of Life!!, September 6, 2000
By roy glenn (author of Is It A Crime) - See all my reviews
I have to admit, that I began reading The Family Curse with a great deal of trepidation, after all I was reading story all a women who puts a curse on a man. What I found was a very well written story of a family. It was dramatic and intense at points. At points it made me laugh until I cried. But just when I thought it was a nice quiet story, it turns highly erotic and very sexual. And then came the curse. I sat riveted to every word, afraid to continue and at the same time driven to finish this extremely well written story. The Family Curse is a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotionally Supercharged!, November 26, 2001
By Hope Clarke (Brooklyn, NY) - See all my reviews
The Family Curse is a bewitching tale of deception and jealousy. Magdalene Breaux's tale will leave readers in awe as they discover the desperate measures these women take to captivate their men. When Freida cast a spell of unyielding love on her sister's boyfriend, she receive more than she bargained for. A curse that would reach far beyond the seed of her loins plagues her entire generation.

I found the book spell bounding from its emotionally charged beginning to its climatic ending that left me gasping for more. It is an absolute MUST READ. Get ready to be spun off your feet with a merry-go-round of twists and turns that will leave your head spinning behind every page. Magdalene, I give you two enthusiastic thumbs up and I can't wait for the next ride. Keep up the good work.

5.0 out of 5 stars an emotionally, intriguing ,erotic read, July 5, 2001
By "shoppnmama-aol" (Houston, Texas USA) - See all my reviews
OOh, Awsome is the first thing I have to say about The Family Curse. This was a very different but intriguing read for me . I was spellbound reading it. It is a fastpace moving story than will not let you put it down.

It was even spooky to me at times. Especially reading it in the wee hours of the morning. You see this book had me reading morning , noon , and night. This one will be hard to put down( if you can ) only to pick it back up.

Yes it is an emotionally charged story with deception, suspense and yes passion. Ms Breaux , you are a very good story teller. I pray this is only a work of fiction with no truth to it .Please . I can remember visiting some of those places and they have new meanings to me now. This is an awsome story that should be read. While I did not really want to give it 5* I felt I had to. It was short a few points only because I was confused with who was doing the main speaking. I am assumming it was Mother Ruby . I wished it was stated at the begining who the voice was in bold lettering. Other than that the begin could have been the ending for me . I had to read the begining to make an ending( closure ) for me. All in this is a 4.5* read. a MR if you dare. whew
