5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for consulting preparation, December 16, 2002
By A Customer
Cosentino's compilation of cases is a superb way to prepare for management consulting case interviews. Not only does he provide a wide variety of cases (from market sizing to acquisition opportunity to dipping profits) he also offers several helpful frameworks for approaching consulting cases in general. I would highly recommend this book to anyone planning to do consulting interviews (and they're tough!). My only caveat is that some of the cases are more geared toward undergraduates rather than MBA's, but they are helpful/warm-ups nonetheless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Secret to success - Consulting Case Interviews, April 28, 2003
By A Customer
In graduate school I browsed many books on consulting case interview preparation. This was the only book I read. The clear, consistent way of thinking through how to manage case interviews made sense. Rather than focusing on formulas, frameworks (e.g., Porters Five Forces), or just examples, Cosentino classifies cases into sensible categories and coaches the student through how to think about answering. Additionally, he gives valuable tips on how to get comfortable in the interview.

The true proof however was that I interviewed with the two top strategy consulting firms and received offers from both.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone considering interviewing with top strategy consulting firms.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not comprehensive, May 29, 2005
I think this book is much better then the vault preparation book, and the cases are more sensible and detailed. It's certainly a good book. However, I would use other sources as well, especially because different firms have different interview styles. I have just been accepted to McKinsey as an associate and their interview style was not similar to the one in the book, although the book did help. I recommend using all the interactive cases you can find in MercerMC, McKinsey, BCG, Wetfeet and Bain websites and then this book and something more, preferably 'Crack the Case'.

Good luck!
Yuval
