Gregory is a high school teacher and has two degrees from Ohio State University in secondary education which includes a bachelor of arts in political science and a bachelor of science in comprehensive social studies. He gives much credit for his work to many people, primarily from the Ohio State University Hospital and the teaching staff of nursing from Ohio State University. He wrote his first book in response to his brother's death from cancer.
