Editorial Reviews

Review
Your historical perspective, global vision and prescient insight stimulates the imagination, improves perspective and excites me about the future. -- Steve Powers, Sr. VP, American Express, July, 2001

Product Description
The Best is Yet to Come contains an insightful look into America and the world's economic future, a future that hung in the balance during the twentieth century as the commanding heights of many world economies were given to government. But...the epic struggle between interventionist government and free markets is over. And the market won. Globalization is the international system that has replaced the Cold War. Driven primarily by capitalism, the Internet is the technology that will reshape the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who said that all economists are pessimists???, November 20, 2003
By Clarke Morgan "seriousreader" (Pleasantville, UT USA) - See all my reviews
I have read many books written by people who seem to think the sky is falling. The news of the day would make one wonder. Reading this book is a REAL breath of fresh air! Barry Asmus is a PhD with a politcally conservative bent, and a refreshingly bullish understanding of the history and future of America.

His book was easy to read and very understandable. I think this book should be required reading by all high school history classes and civic classes. It would be a great to teach our upcoming generation that America has many positive attributes and unlimited opportunies.

Dr. Asmus describes many social issues and gives several great suggestions to overcome many issues that we are currently struggling with as a country. I hope Republican leaders, business leaders, and education leaders are reading this book.

I believe Dr. Asmus is an optimistic economist, a caring conservative, and a true leader. A rare combination indeed.

Please... Dr. Asmus, Please... keep up the great work. I look forward to your next book.

I have read many reviews by people who mock people who say that the sky is falling. Guess what: the sky fell.
