This is the only Pilate book I read and refer to over and over, and every time I pick up something new. It will empower and inspire you! No other book approaches Pilates as a concept that makes sense. There is a reason for the order of the exercises. It matters, just as timing, flow, and listening to your breath all matter, and he explains it so well. I am sure your Pilates will improve along with your results. I know my improvement was dramatic and perceptible immediately. Personally, I loved the journal and the exerpts from workshops. And the author's view is a great contribution to the field. When I finished the book I said,"Ah! So this is Pilates"! You will, too. I give this book 2 thumbs up (or 3 if I had a third one).

undoubtedly mr. miller knows his pilates. however, this is a self-published, overpriced transcription of lectures and journal entries, rife with "inaudibles" and "unintelligible questions". for seekers of in depth information on the pilates method, i suspect it would be more satisfying to refer to joseph pilates' original works, or that of alan menezes.

I have purchased just about every book there is on Pilates. The Elements and Michael Miller View takes the platinum award for Passion, knowledge, and experience about Pilates. Michael Miller's Book will definitely entice the reader with his enthusiasm for defining what Pilates is and he is right on track with what Joseph Pilates believed in and taught, body, mind, and spirit.

My favorite sections were the exerpts from the workshops he held and the Hermits Journal. Having the opportunity to be around several recognized Master Pilates Teachers I definitely believe this book has so much to offer all Pilates enthusiast; whether beginner or an experiencedteacher. I strongly recommend this book. It is not just about Pilates, but some valuable lessons about life. Happy Reading.
