Product Description
Even if you don't care much for poetry, you may reap surprising benefit, comfort and enjoyment from this unique book. It includes seventeen chapters with over eighty poems that are waiting to touch your soul. To bring depth and clarity to her poetry, the author offers you introductions to each poem that gives a personal glimpse into the thought or circumstance that led to it being written.
Since many topics are dealt with, you WILL find chapters you closely relate to. Some of the poems may make you cry, others make you laugh, and still others trigger a memory or give you fresh insight. Whatever the case, you will not be left unaffected.
If you have experienced, or are currently experiencing any of the following, don't pass up this book: chronic illness, the death of a loved one, the devastation of Alzheimer's disease, being in love, raising a family, a child who doesn't fit the mold, the love of special pets, questioning your faith, depression, seeing life as unfair, strengthening your faith, and so on.
The first chapter gives the inside story on the dream that started it all. After that, read one chapter at a time, one poem at a time, or skip to the chapters you relate to most. You just may be intrigued enough to read it all in one sitting. There is no wrong way to enjoy this book. It also makes a great gift book for any reader in your life, especially those who have faced hardships. A majority of the poems are written from a Christian perspective, but it is not exclusively for Christians.
A bit of advice: If you are a polished, sophisticated person with sophisticated taste, you will want to pass on this one. It was written simply and directly, with no hidden meanings to decipher and no fluffy, fancy wording. It is meant solely for down-to-earth, everday people with gentle souls and strong character. Then too, you just may find one or more poems that will help strenghten your character or help move you in a positive direction.
Do not pass this up as just another poetry book. If you do, you will miss out on a unique, intimate book - parts of which may cause you to feel you are reading about YOUR very own life.
