Doggy on Deck not only has all you ever need to know about bringing Fido aboard, but much of the advice is helpful to dog owners who never set foot on a boat. I'd like to see a book like this for cats...does the author own any finicky felines? Probably not any that like sailing, but we cat owners could sure use your insight.

Kip McSnip sounds like one cool dog, with a face every mother could love. And his many adventures at sea could rival those of most adults.

If you have a dog and plan on going to sea, then this is a must read book. The author gives you all the facts in a most loving and honest format. You will learn how to handle fleas, sea sickness, tropical temperatures, dog food, foreign veterinarines, customs officials, training, storms at sea, where your dog is welcome and where he is not, bathroom issues; and most importantly, the unconditional love a dog bestows upon their owner.

I don't have a boat. I don't have a dog. And yet, I truly enjoyed this book. The author tells some sweet stories while she dispenses advice. Pet owners might appreciate her lists of resources and descriptions of quarantine policies, but I had fun reading about a dog who swam for bratwurst, who fell in love, and who occasionally thought the humans were a bit bizarre. The author's information seems to be well researched and her anecdotes lead me to wonder about other stories that could become other books. There's fun depth here.
